The 45 CENTES clichι comes from 30 CENTES I type clichι; some characteristics of 45 CENTES, for this reason, are the same of it:
- S of CENTES connected to the tip of the superior left ornament of the value frame;
- S of CENTES defective in the left superior part (broken);
- defective in the left part of the lily;
- dot of color in the superior line of the value frame (between 45 and CENTES).
Type I
- stereotype;
- number 45 with movable character so fix in different position, normally fixed in the lower right part of the frame (the distance between 5 and C is very small, from 0,2 or 0,3 (normal) to 0,7 mm);
- the tips of the lower and superior left ornaments in the value frame, between the 45 are often damaged or with part of the number 3 (see photos);
- the color of these stamps are: blue, pale blue, sky blue, dark blue, slate blue.
This stamp was used to frank letters for receivers far away more than 20 league. The estimated number of copies printed are 16.855.000:
Plate 1 : 3.910.000; Plate 2 : 3.940.000; Plate 3 and 4: 3.740.000; machine-made paper: 5.265.000.
45 centes I type - 1° plate:
first stamp: I issue sky blue edge of sheet; second stamp: blue - counterdrawed;
third stamp: pale blue white hole under the crown.
