The 15 CENTES cliché III type comes from a 10 CENTES cliché; the characteristics are for this reason similar to this stamp:

- tip of the lower internal right ornament, in the value frame, under “S.” of CENTES blunted and with a color dot;

- superior part of the middle line of first “E” of CENTES defective (not completed);

- small sign on the external right side of the coat of arms (in the high part, near the acorn);

- number “1” and “5” not aligned;

- number “5” connected to the superior line of the value frame and open;

- tip of the superior right ornament, in the value frame, in line with the end of “S” of CENTES.

- tip of the lower internal right ornament, in the coat of arms frame, short and flat;

 

Type IIIa:

Electrotype.

No other characteristic.

 

Type IIIb:

Electrotype.

Moreover the characteristic of IIIa type, has a dot of color in the left superior part of “S” of “CENTES”.

 

Type IIIc:

Electrotype.

Moreover the characteristic of IIIa type, has a dot of color in the inferior left part in the value frame.

With this cliché was printed the stamps of Plate 4° (mixed IIIa, IIIb, IIIc).

 

The stamps of III type machine made paper can be divided into: A or B plate. The A plate has the clichè cleaned in three direction; the B plate has the cliché cleaned in two direction (in the A plate the dot in the coat of arms are more regulars and similar).

 

 

 

15 centes III type:

first stamp: type IIIa – light vermeil red – edge of sheet;

second stamp: type IIIc – vermeil red – edge of sheet;

third stamp: type IIIc – salmon red – edge of sheet.
