Common characteristic of the 10 CENTES clichι :

- tip of the lower internal right ornament (coat of arms frame) long and pointed;

- number 1 not connected to the superior line of the value frame;

- tip of the lower right ornament, in the coat of value frame, (under “S.”) short and flat with a little color dot;

- defective in the middle line of the “E” in CENTES;

- small sign on the external right side of the coat of arms (in the high part, near the acorn).

 

Type Ia

The second “E” of CENTES is broken at the bottom line.

“0” of “10” complete. Stereotype – only one plate (mix Ia-Ib).

 

Type Ib

The second “E” of CENTES is broken at the bottom line as in the type Ia;

“0” di “10” defective and open at the top right. Stereotype - only one plate (mix Ia-Ib).

 

This stamp was used to frank letter addressed in the same city.

The estimated number of copies of this stamp are 3.225.000: 2.410.000 printed on hand-made paper and 815.000 on machine-made paper.
